Guests Welcome

What changes for your next match

Guest entry is repaired

The embedded notes report that exhausted guest names blocked new guests. New arrivals receive six-digit names; existing guest identities are retained. This reports the intended fix, not a Cobalt server-availability test.

Expect the original host’s loading check

The project added protection after service disruption. Its notes recommend refreshing an outdated browser view or restarting the Windows client to update. Our guides do not bypass those checks or claim to verify every login path.

Arcane

What changes for your next match

Give Arcane its own resource plan

Blast builds charges that raise its damage and cost; Barrage consumes them. Mana spending earns an enhanced Missiles channel. Five talent rows offer mutually exclusive choices, including offensive, recovery and stealing capstones. This is a new toolkit to learn, not evidence of a proven best composition.

Check the bar and the landing

Arcane Explosion is removed from every Mage kit. Jumps retain their launch momentum through midair movement controls; knockbacks, Disengage and Displacer Beast follow arcs. Dalaran’s stair approaches are widened. Recheck the next landing and support line instead of assuming an older movement route behaves identically.

0.27

Cultivation

What changes for your next match

Rebuild the selected recovery decision

Cultivation replaces Restoration’s Natural Shapeshifter and adds healing when Rejuvenation is cast on a low-health ally. Named cast-speed benefits, including Tidal Waves and Backdraft, are consumed on completion, preserving them when the cast does not finish.

Respect terrain and current spell values

Surrounding auras such as Starfall, Bladestorm and Infernal Immolation no longer reach through pillars or walls. Thunderstorm gains a slow; Lava Burst and selected Elemental areas are retuned, and Killing Spree strikes harder. Existing totem or summon effects can persist after their source ends.

A wording fix is not a new Fury nerf

The Fury description is corrected to show the 10% incoming-damage penalty already present since 0.26. It should not be presented as a separate balance reduction introduced by this patch.

0.26

Scorch

What changes for your next match

Build Fire around its current spell access

Fireball now belongs to Fire and Frostbolt to Frost. Fire gains Scorch; Pyroblast becomes a capstone that replaces Fireball. Kindling now builds a temporary Fire-damage bonus through Scorch, while Impact replaces Mass Polymorph with a conditional Fire Blast stun.

Shaman movement no longer needs the old instant-shift talent

Every Shaman enters Ghost Wolf instantly. The former Improved Ghost Wolf slot now offers specialization-specific value: Ancestral Swiftness for Restoration, Flurry for Enhancement and Improved Chain Lightning for Elemental. Lava Flows now earns instant Lava Bursts through a chance on Flame Shock ticks.

Check support conditions before reusing an older setup

Judgment reaches 15 m and Forbearance lasts 45 seconds. Dispel Magic removes up to two eligible effects from an ally but one from an enemy. Shadow’s Void Shield permits Power Word: Shield without leaving Shadowform; Misery and Malediction attach short slows to Vampiric Touch and Unstable Affliction.

Pressure windows receive targeted adjustments

Assassination’s first-row talents now provide paired poisons. Killing Spree prevents direct enemy targeting, while area damage remains possible. Fury’s baseline Enrage increases damage taken by 10%. Destruction keeps its held Soul Shards for the match; the previous loss while hidden is obsolete.

Killing Spree

What changes for your next match

Combat becomes Rogue’s third specialization

Slice and Dice links faster swings to Energy return, Adrenaline Rush accelerates resource recovery, and Crimson Vial supplies Physical healing. Five new talent rows support different resource, survival and capstone choices; those alternatives are not one combined loadout.

Knockback can end a normal cast

Typhoon and Thunderstorm now stop casts through displacement without applying a school lockout. A cast allowed while moving continues. This supersedes earlier instructions saying the cast always survives the push.

Communicate with the ping wheel

Holding G opens team calls for danger, an attack target or assistance. Communication settings add further calls. The second utility default moves to V, and matchmaking tries to split healers between teams when the queue permits it.

0.24

Dalaran Sewers

What changes for your next match

Learn the Sewers approach and exits

Dalaran Sewers adds raised central ground, a surrounding moat, two approaches and line-of-sight crates. Water forces both teams out of their starting pipes. The live map pool now contains four arenas; the practice ground should not be counted as a fifth match arena.

Ratings belong to the specialization

The update resets existing ratings and separates future progress by specialization within each bracket. Switching from one spec to another therefore changes the rating used for that selection, rather than preserving a single shared class rating.

Read the narrower rescue conditions

Leap of Faith pulls party members and receives a shorter cooldown. Hunter escape talents and Master’s Call remove roots and slows rather than every control. Backdraft accelerates Destruction’s eligible casts more strongly. Preparation bar and talent changes also receive synchronization fixes.

0.23.2

Deeper Pools

What changes for your next match

Distinguish healer Mana from the base class pool

Discipline Priest, Holy Paladin, Restoration Druid and Restoration Shaman each receive 7000 Mana. Their class’s damage specializations do not inherit that change automatically.

Several familiar effects change strength

Mortal Wounds reduces healing by 30%, Retribution’s damage is reduced, and Blind lasts eight seconds before diminishing returns or damage breaks. These are balance facts, not evidence of a measured tier-list result.

Hunter’s old talent slot changes identity

Marksmanship replaces Tranquilizing Shots with Serpent Sting, an Arcane Shot replacement that adds a dispellable venom. Beast Mastery instead receives Killer Instinct for low-health Kill Command targets.

0.23.1

Havoc

What changes for your next match

Reconsider the fourth Destruction row

Bane changes Chaos Bolt’s cast speed through held shards, Devastation changes the shard damage contribution, and Havoc creates a second nearby-target Bolt. Old Soulshatter and Doom instructions no longer describe the row.

Conflagrate preserves the setup burn

Conflagrate still needs your own Immolate but no longer removes it. Shadow Ward and Soulstone stop consuming Soul Shards. Immolate’s base cast becomes shorter, while Soul Swap and Shadowburn gain stronger shard-related effects.

0.23

Shards of Chaos

What changes for your next match

Destruction adds a different team objective

The new demon-free specialization gathers Soul Shards through selected talents and spends them on Chaos Bolt. The projectile pierces absorb shields; Chaos Scar limits repeated shard bonuses on the same victim. Generator, capacity and capstone choices create different plans.

Treat this as historical context

Later releases revise shard persistence, Conflagrate and several Destruction talents. The current ability explorer uses current 0.28.1 records; this entry explains when the specialization arrived rather than restoring its launch rules.

What our review establishes.

Release notes describe intended changes. A static client inspection checks the supplied toolkit configuration; it does not reproduce server-side combat or establish a new tournament meta. Our class guides, ability reference and rankings show their own scope.
