Your Shaman game plan
Shaman now offers Restoration, Enhancement and Elemental in the 0.22.1 roster. Restoration supplies dedicated healing, Enhancement mixes weapon pressure with spell support, and the new Elemental option organizes ranged pressure around shocks, Lava Burst and lightning casts. The shared toolkit already includes Wind Shear, Purge and Hex, so damage is only one part of the class's contribution. Our advice is to give each action a job: stop a cast, remove a benefit, secure space or restore a teammate. Repeating familiar spell names from WoW can miss important restrictions in this implementation.
Choose your Shaman specialization

Restoration
HealerA tierRestoration supplies a coordinated partner with direct recovery, cleansing and a position-based healing contribution. Its A placement rewards that useful variety while keeping attention on where the pair stands and which recovery action can be completed safely.
- Riptide
- A recovery spell that helps establish the healing sequence.
- Cleanse Spirit
- A specialization cleansing tool.
- Healing Stream Totem
- Nearby allied recovery from the placed totem.
Watch the tradeoff: A nearby healing tool needs an appropriate position. Repeated long casts and mana expenditure can become difficult when the pair cannot create room.
Try this: Place the recovery plan where your partner can benefit without forcing either player into an unsafe line.

Enhancement
DamageB tierEnhancement can give a pair a clear melee commitment and supporting totem purpose. Its contribution is more conditional when the opponent denies contact, so our placement asks for a partner who helps manage the approach and retreat.
- Stormstrike
- A central melee attack for the current two-handed weapon plan.
- Strength of Earth Totem
- A nearby melee-support contribution.
- Shamanistic Rage
- A specialization defensive response.
Watch the tradeoff: The current kit is a heavy two-handed style, not an imported dual-wield rotation. Following beyond support range can separate the pair’s useful tools.
Try this: Plan the first approach with your partner and choose the totem option for the exchange you expect to fight.

Elemental
DamageB tierElemental gives the pair clear setup-and-cast pressure plus a strong positional tool. We place it provisionally with the setups that need protected casting room, rather than extrapolating current strength from newly increased spell values.
- Lava Burst
- A Fire cast that critically strikes a target with the caster’s Flame Shock.
- Chain Lightning
- A Nature cast that can leap to additional suitable enemies.
- Thunderstorm
- Nearby damage and knockback to create space.
Watch the tradeoff: Flame Shock setup, casting and the selected totem need coordination. Thunderstorm’s interaction with control depends on talents; do not assume it is always usable while stunned.
Try this: Establish Flame Shock on the intended target and preserve a practical casting position before committing the Lava Burst window.
See the placement notes →Give healing and weapon pressure their own plans
Restoration's Riptide combines immediate healing with ongoing recovery. Healing Wave and Lesser Healing Wave then offer different cast commitments, while Cleanse Spirit removes a harmful effect. We would place Healing Stream Totem where the team can benefit without giving the enemy an effortless removal. The client documents one totem at a time and fragile totems, so replacement has an opportunity cost. Enhancement uses Mana rather than an assumed Maelstrom resource bar. Stormstrike leaves Nature vulnerability, and selected Maelstrom Weapon talents can prepare faster support or damage casts. Watch the actual talent state before relying on an instant emergency heal.
Elemental: establish the condition before the payoff
Lava Burst has a guaranteed-critical condition against a target bearing your own Flame Shock. Another Shaman's effect is not the stated condition. Chain Lightning can reach nearby enemies, while Thunderstorm creates distance through knockback. We would use those tools according to positioning rather than invent a fixed sequence that always fits. Fulmination is a talent, not baseline Earth Shock behavior: its extra interrupt needs a Lightning Shield orb and observes its own restriction. Lava Flows is another specific choice, granting an instant Lava Burst after your Flame Shock ends or is dispelled. Check your selected row before expecting either interaction.

QUICK ANSWERS
Clear up the next decision.
Is Elemental actually playable in the current roster?+
Yes. The primary 0.22.1 native Shaman file includes Elemental alongside Restoration and Enhancement. A reference that lists only nineteen total specializations misses this addition; this guide uses the current twenty-specialization roster.
Does Earth Shock always interrupt like Wind Shear?+
No. Baseline Earth Shock is damage. Elemental can select Fulmination for a conditional extra interrupt involving Lightning Shield and its own availability restriction. Keep Wind Shear as the shared verified interrupt and read the talent conditions separately.
SOURCE REVIEW
Where the advice comes from.
Toolkit records were inspected from the original public client, version 0.22.1, on 31 October 2026. Suggested positioning, practice priorities and tier placements are Cobalt’s editorial assessment. They are not measured win rates or a tournament ranking. Server-side tuning and selected talents can change an exchange.
