Spec tier list.
Twenty toolkits, with the reason behind every letter. Choose by the contribution your pair needs.
THE RANKING PROFILE
Coordinated 2v2.
Utility and recovery.
These are editorial toolkit priorities for a pair. A healer’s complete support package and a damage spec’s pressure solve different jobs.

THE REASONS BEHIND THE LETTERS
All placement notes.
Placements express our priorities for the stated profile. They are not measured DPS or win-rate results.
SDisciplinePriest · Discipline+
Why we placed it here
Discipline brings an especially coherent package for this profile: preventative protection, directed recovery and a major answer to an opponent’s commitment. That gives a coordinated partner several distinct opportunities to stay active or reset the exchange.
The tradeoff
A strong rescue toolkit is still finite. Spending several answers on the same danger can leave the next attack without an appropriate response.
Try this next
Agree which danger requires Pain Suppression and preserve another recovery option for the exchange that follows.
SRestorationDruid · Restoration+
Why we placed it here
Restoration offers an especially broad combination of continuing recovery, movement-related form utility and control. A coordinated partner can use that flexibility to survive an exchange or create room, which is precisely what this editorial profile rewards.
The tradeoff
The flexibility creates more decisions. A poorly timed Cyclone or form change can interfere with the partner’s attack or leave recovery awkward.
Try this next
Keep the partner informed before Cyclone, and plan the recovery action needed when you return to a healing form.
AArmsWarrior · Arms+
Why we placed it here
Arms gives a coordinated pair a clear pressure target, healing disruption and several ways to interfere with a response. This profile values that readable connection between staying on a target and helping a partner finish an opportunity.
The tradeoff
An unsuccessful approach leaves the Warrior exposed and the partner stretching to help. Damage does not excuse chasing beyond a workable support position.
Try this next
Agree on the target before charging, and keep a way back toward your partner when the exchange turns.
AFrostMage · Frost+
Why we placed it here
Frost offers a coordinated pair useful links between creating space, controlling a target and applying pressure. That flexible contribution to an exchange earns an A here without asserting that its damage beats Fire in every matchup.
The tradeoff
Control states and target conditions require attention. A partner who breaks the intended setup can remove the opportunity the Mage was trying to create.
Try this next
Call the control target separately from the damage target, and read Deep Freeze’s current conditions before relying on it.
ASubtletyRogue · Subtlety+
Why we placed it here
Subtlety gives a coordinated pair clear opportunities to connect positioning, control and a planned attack. The A placement values that team-facing setup, while recognizing that available stealth actions also depend on the selected talent choices.
The tradeoff
The opening can demand more attention than a sustained-pressure plan. Spending mobility or control without a shared purpose makes the follow-up less reliable.
Try this next
Use the current Hemorrhage-based kit; older Backstab or Ghostly Strike instructions no longer describe this specialization.
AMarksmanshipHunter · Marksmanship+
Why we placed it here
Marksmanship supplies a coordinated partner with clear shooting windows and access to Hunter control. This profile rewards the ability to separate a pressure target from a controlled opponent, provided the pair creates space for committed shots.
The tradeoff
A strong shot is not useful when the position cannot support it. Chasing an angle can also pull the Hunter away from recovery.
Try this next
Arrange the control first, then choose a shooting position that leaves an understandable route back to your partner.
AHolyPaladin · Holy+
Why we placed it here
Holy contributes several distinct ways to support a partner, including targeted and nearby recovery. It fits this profile well when the pair respects healing position and preserves major protection for the opponent’s meaningful commitment.
The tradeoff
Coverage is not the same as limitless healing. Position and the cost of longer recovery casts matter when the opponent can keep pressure going.
Try this next
Choose a Beacon plan before the gates open and avoid spending every defensive answer in the first exchange.
ARetributionPaladin · Retribution+
Why we placed it here
Retribution connects melee pressure to useful recovery and control options. That combination suits a coordinated pair that decides when to keep attacking and when the damage player must spend attention helping the teammate survive.
The tradeoff
Support and offense compete for timing and mana. Repentance can also lose its purpose if the pair continues damaging the controlled target.
Try this next
Call when you switch from attacking to assisting, so the partner does not spend another answer unnecessarily.
AAfflictionWarlock · Affliction+
Why we placed it here
Affliction can make a pair’s pressure persist while offering a different resource-oriented problem for a healer. This profile values that continuity and shared control, rather than claiming a particular damage-over-time setup wins every long match.
The tradeoff
Several applications and a drain ask for time and attention. Continuing damage can also conflict with a partner’s damage-breakable control plan.
Try this next
Keep the kill target and the intended control target explicit before spreading continuing damage across the opposing pair.
AFeralDruid · Feral+
Why we placed it here
Feral can offer a coordinated pair mobile pressure, a deliberate control spend and a route back toward self-support through shifting. We value that adaptable contribution while recognizing that resources and form transitions require active management.
The tradeoff
Finishing for damage and spending for control are different commitments. Shifting to recover also changes what the Cat plan can contribute immediately.
Try this next
Choose the purpose of the next combo-point spend before using it, and communicate when shifting away from pressure.
ARestorationShaman · Restoration+
Why we placed it here
Restoration supplies a coordinated partner with direct recovery, cleansing and a position-based healing contribution. Its A placement rewards that useful variety while keeping attention on where the pair stands and which recovery action can be completed safely.
The tradeoff
A nearby healing tool needs an appropriate position. Repeated long casts and mana expenditure can become difficult when the pair cannot create room.
Try this next
Place the recovery plan where your partner can benefit without forcing either player into an unsafe line.
BFuryWarrior · Fury+
Why we placed it here
Fury can turn a planned offensive window into substantial pressure, but its defining Enrage also increases damage received. Our placement reflects the extra coordination needed to protect that commitment rather than a measured damage disadvantage.
The tradeoff
A damage window and a dangerous incoming exchange can overlap. Treating every Enrage as permission to keep attacking makes recovery harder for both players.
Try this next
Tell your partner when committing to Enrage and reassess immediately if the opponent answers with control or burst.
BFireMage · Fire+
Why we placed it here
Fire gives a pair an identifiable attack window and access to the shared Mage control kit. It asks the partner to help create usable casting space and avoid undermining that control with unrelated pressure.
The tradeoff
A planned burst can lose value when interrupted or forced into an unsafe position. Familiar spell names do not establish a guaranteed free-cast sequence.
Try this next
Use practice to distinguish your available instant opportunities from casts that need your partner to create room.
BShadowPriest · Shadow+
Why we placed it here
Shadow offers sustained pressure and an identifiable interruption window. Its team value depends on keeping that pressure connected to a useful target while managing the moments when channels, defense or repositioning interrupt the offensive plan.
The tradeoff
Damage over time does not make movement and recovery automatic. A defensive commitment can change what support the partner needs to provide next.
Try this next
Coordinate Silence with an actual partner opportunity instead of using it merely because the button becomes available.
BAssassinationRogue · Assassination+
Why we placed it here
Assassination can maintain a readable pressure plan while retaining shared Rogue disruption. We place it below the most direct utility-and-recovery packages because finishing, controlling and preserving resources need deliberate choices within the same exchange.
The tradeoff
Spending resources on damage can change the control available next. Ongoing poison pressure also needs to be considered before setting a damage-breakable control.
Try this next
Decide whether the next resource spend is intended to finish the target or preserve the team’s control window.
BBeast MasteryHunter · Beast Mastery+
Why we placed it here
Beast Mastery can give a partner a clear offensive signal through its pet window. Its placement reflects the additional responsibility of keeping the selected companion and personal utility aligned with the same team objective.
The tradeoff
Pet choice and availability are part of the plan, not decoration. Pressure becomes harder to coordinate when the companion and hero pursue different targets.
Try this next
Confirm which beast the talent selection supplies and keep the partner informed before committing Bestial Wrath.
BDemonologyWarlock · Demonology+
Why we placed it here
Demonology brings a distinctive companion-and-durability plan, but a coordinated pair must account for the selected demon and its contribution. We place it provisionally where that extra management is visible rather than treating pet output as automatic.
The tradeoff
An attractive companion option can change available utility. Do not combine every possible demon choice into a fictional always-active loadout.
Try this next
Read what the first talent actually selects, then build your partner communication around that demon’s real tools.
BBalanceDruid · Balance+
Why we placed it here
Balance offers a useful mixture of pressure and space-making tools, but this profile notices the work needed to connect them. Casting room, form transitions and a well-timed control matter more than simply having several attractive buttons.
The tradeoff
Healing shifts the hero out of Moonkin Form, and the current Cyclone has a cast time. Older instant-Cyclone instructions should not shape the plan.
Try this next
Use the current cast-based Cyclone and decide when leaving Moonkin Form is necessary before an emergency forces the decision.
BEnhancementShaman · Enhancement+
Why we placed it here
Enhancement can give a pair a clear melee commitment and supporting totem purpose. Its contribution is more conditional when the opponent denies contact, so our placement asks for a partner who helps manage the approach and retreat.
The tradeoff
The current kit is a heavy two-handed style, not an imported dual-wield rotation. Following beyond support range can separate the pair’s useful tools.
Try this next
Plan the first approach with your partner and choose the totem option for the exchange you expect to fight.
BElementalShaman · Elemental+
Why we placed it here
Elemental gives the pair clear setup-and-cast pressure plus a strong positional tool. We place it provisionally with the setups that need protected casting room, rather than extrapolating current strength from newly increased spell values.
The tradeoff
Flame Shock setup, casting and the selected totem need coordination. Thunderstorm’s interaction with control depends on talents; do not assume it is always usable while stunned.
Try this next
Establish Flame Shock on the intended target and preserve a practical casting position before committing the Lava Burst window.
MAKE THE LETTERS USEFUL
How we ranked this profile.
Placements compare how directly a specialization supports this particular two-player plan. S indicates an especially complete recovery-and-control package; A offers clear coordinated tools; B asks for more conditional setup or management. These letters are our assessment, not measured match strength.
- Useful pressure alongside a partner
- Control and interruption that create a shared opportunity
- Recovery or protection when the first plan fails
- Practical access to the toolkit under pressure
- Dependence on setup, casting space or a pet
We have not played a documented match sample, measured win rates or reproduced a tournament meta. Client configuration does not prove live server behavior. Roles, chosen talents, player skill and opponents change a pairing. Empty lower tiers are intentional; no specialization is labelled weak merely to fill a row.
