HORDES OF AZEROTH
THE AZEROTH SURVIVAL JOURNALHordes of Azeroth
FIELD EDITION
0.6.2

CLASS FIELD NOTE / STAY CLOSE. KEEP AN EXIT.

Hordes of Azeroth
Warrior build guide.

Warrior rewards a controlled orbit around the horde. Its damage reaches the enemies near you, so the useful question is how long you can keep attacking without taking the next marked hit.

THE ENGINE

Bleed into a close-range payoff

A tier / first-run opinion ↗

CHOOSE A DIRECTION

Three routes.
One main engine.

These are qualitative starting directions, not a simulated best-in-slot build or an exact talent allocation.

01 / Arms

Rend → Bleed → Mortal Strike

Build Bleed on a pack before the payoff. The 0.6.2 notes add Bleed application to Cleave, Whirlwind and Thunder Clap when you have Rend.

02 / Fury

Bloodthirst → Enrage → Whirlwind

Bloodthirst adds sustain and critical strikes can enable Enrage. Whirlwind benefits from the Enrage window; this is a compact route to learn before adding a second engine.

03 / Protection

Shield Block → Shield Slam

Shield is both a defensive resource and a damage setup. Losing it changes the next exchange, so a large theoretical slam is not a reason to stand in a boss marker.

SKILL CONNECTIONS

Give the next offer a job.

Bloodthirst
A useful early sustain layer while you learn the distance your strikes need.
Rend
The connecting piece for a Bleed plan, including the newly documented application from other Warrior hits.
Whirlwind
An area attack that works with Fury’s Enrage and can help the Arms application plan.
Mortal Strike
A Bleed payoff; 0.6.2 adds damage based on the next portion of the Bleed while retaining the stacks.

A DECISION ORDER, NOT STAT WEIGHTS

What matters first?

  1. 01Survive the next melee contact
  2. 02Make Bleed or Enrage repeat reliably
  3. 03Add damage to the attacks already connecting

We do not publish a universal Strength, Haste or Crit ratio for this class. An item’s value depends on the spells, conditions and survival problem in your actual run. Read the offer before replacing a piece that is keeping the engine alive.

THE RUN, IN THREE QUESTIONS

From the first pack
to the boss.

Opening: what already works?

Use Bloodthirst to establish a rhythm at the outside edge of the pack. Move toward a gap after an attack instead of repeatedly crossing through the middle. Pick one nearby-damage engine before collecting several unrelated effects.

Middle: what is the missing connection?

For Arms, first ask whether the enemies you are hitting actually carry Bleed. Add a payoff after you can apply the condition consistently. For Fury, look for recurring Enrage windows rather than assuming every Whirlwind is equally valuable.

Boss: what changes when the pack is gone?

Keep the boss in reach between telegraphs, then leave before the marked impact. Recovery from smaller enemies can disappear when the fight becomes isolated. Reserve a movement route rather than spending Dash merely to shorten the walk back.

CHECK THE CURRENT TOOLTIP

The mistake to avoid.

Do not treat Deep Wounds as only the old critical-strike Bleed trigger. The 0.6.2 release also documents extra critical chance against bleeding targets. Avoid copying an older tooltip’s numbers as a complete current description.

Why this learning-tier placement?

A compact damage-and-recovery loop makes Warrior a useful learning pick, but the required proximity leaves less room for missed telegraphs than a ranged class.

The full tier list compares how approachable the first learning run feels from the documented toolkit. It does not rank developed characters, co-op compositions or unlimited Mythic performance. Our recommendation can change when the class rules change.

Before the next run.

Is this an exact talent tree or guaranteed best build?

No. It is a source-reviewed route through the class’s main decisions. Exact point allocations and universal stat weights are not established here. Check the current offer and your character’s unlocked options.

Can I use a build from Project Ebonhold or Azeroth Survivors?

Those are different projects with different mechanics. Shared Warcraft class and spell names do not make a build portable. Use the Hordes 0.6.2 reference and the spell descriptions in your own run.

Release v0.6.2, published 2 November, is our current reference. The author’s release notes take precedence over older class-preview tooltips. Recommendations are original qualitative analysis; we have not measured class win rates or playtested these builds.
