Published player-guide documentation is cited below. Read the current in-game tooltip and confirmation if your realm differs. PTR-only changes are not treated as normal-builder facts.
Start at the right entrance
Project Ebonhold is a custom WotLK-based roguelite. The official project specifies a 3.3.5a client. Start from its own website and installation instructions, then read the realm and rule information shown there. Hordes of Azeroth, Azeroth Survivors and WoW Forever have separate progression systems; matching class names do not make their downloads, talents or saves compatible.
Make the first session small enough to understand. You are trying to learn the relationship between your class actions, temporary choices and account progression. A long list of future legendary effects can wait until those three things are visible.
Give the first character one job
Pick a damage, tank or ally-support role before browsing a finished community build. That gives every new card a useful question: does it support an action I can perform now? A highly specific build can depend on an unlocked effect, a later spell or equipment you do not own yet.
Our class guides offer starting experiments, with three real Echo examples per class from the default public builder catalog. They are deliberately tied to a named trigger. Use that trigger to reject an attractive but inactive interaction.
Follow a short learning loop
- Read the current action bar and identify one dependable damage or support sequence.
- Accept an appropriate starting objective and learn how the game presents a reward choice.
- Take a card whose recipient and trigger you can explain.
- After a manageable fight, identify whether the limitation was positioning, resources or the effect itself.
- Change one part of the experiment and repeat.
The official first-run guide points new players toward the Call Board, level-appropriate activity and discovering waystones. Treat those as the route into the systems, rather than an obligation to rush immediately into harder content.
Carried rewards and banked progress are different
The published banking guide distinguishes an offering at a Spirit Healer from accepting death. An offering can bank the run rewards while the run continues; accepting death ends the run. The documented contract bonus is handled differently by those two choices. Read the actual confirmation before acting, especially if a bonus is part of your plan.
Our practical recommendation is to decide where the next banking opportunity is before a difficult experiment. A larger number on the run frame is not a substitute for understanding when that number becomes account progress. Do not copy extraction-vault instructions from Hordes of Azeroth into this system.
Raise difficulty to answer a question
Start with the mode you can read reliably. The published Torment guide describes account unlocks and conditions for changing difficulty; it also distinguishes your selected mode from an instance that was opened at another mode. If a friend seems to have disappeared from the open world, compare the selected difficulty before treating it as a connection problem.
A useful reason to raise difficulty is to test a now-stable plan against more pressure. An unhelpful reason is expecting a harder label to repair an incoherent build. Keep the same ordinary sequence and evaluate the new limitation.
Leave a note for the next session
Write down your class, active role, the exact Echo name and the action you expected to trigger it. Add one thing that went wrong. That tiny record is more useful than remembering only the colour of a card or the final damage number.
On return, check whether your realm and the official builder still describe the same effect. The public normal builder and the explicitly labelled PTR builder are separate sources. A preview change can be interesting without being a current instruction for your realm.
