Dread Lord Demonology
Azeroth Survivors Warlock

Demonology is a collection of related choices, not permission to equip every demon at once. This route centers on the current Pact of the Nathrezim capstone and its explicit Searing Pain inheritance. An Imp, a chosen permanent companion and optional Doomguard support offer other connections, but exclusivity clauses and demon-specific repeat rules must remain visible when judging the package.

THE COBALT TAKE

The clearest current upgrade link is Felseeker inheriting Searing Pain upgrades. Build around that named relationship rather than assuming every player statistic transfers to every demon. The support talents below describe choices worth evaluating, not a claim that all can be maximized together in a proven point allocation.

Desktop 0.111.0 + 0.130.0 checked. Reviewed 30 October 2026. Original builds were cross-checked between 0.111.0 and 0.130.0; the new alternate builds were checked directly against 0.130.0 native talent records. All 102 class abilities were checked. Build priorities are our recommendations; exact ranks and offered amulet effects should be read in your client. Evidence & version scope →

The build in four decisions.

Confirm the active engine

Check whether Searing Pain is learned, supplied by a talent, or supporting a pet/proc engine.

Improve the current clear

Use the build priorities. Consider early Luck when damage and survival are already sufficient.

Evaluate any amulet offer

Read which learned spell the amulet remakes; do not assume it changes a free proc or pet.

Support the engine you have

A working setup need not wait for one necklace. Read actual effects and any repeated-offer empowerment.

BEFORE YOU START THE RUN

Give the plan a starting point.

Read the displayed capstone and its named attack

The current Pact of the Nathrezim description names a Dread Lord and Felseeker. The latter explicitly inherits Searing Pain upgrades. Keep the displayed mechanic as the basis of the plan instead of assuming that every demon or every player attack shares the same inheritance.

Choose the mutually exclusive paths deliberately

Pact of the Nathrezim excludes Butcher. Soul Devourer and Soul Link also exclude one another. This concept favors the Dread Lord and discusses the Felhunter option; a Voidwalker alternative requires a different companion choice rather than adding both for free.

Do not assume a new starting spell

Pact describes a timed summon, not a Searing Pain opening. Obtain or confirm the actual spell before counting its upgrades as part of the plan. Keep the available starter productive while developing the desired package.

Check how your core engine comes online

Read your selected talents and current spell list. A learned spell, a free cast and a pet engine are different starting points. Take a spell offer if it fills the missing job; learned-spell eligibility for a legendary amulet is a separate question.

Searing Pain upgrades for the named inheritance

Felseeker explicitly inherits these upgrades and has stated primary-target and multi-target behavior. That gives the spell a concrete purpose even while demons contribute; it does not establish that every unrelated spell upgrade improves the Dread Lord.

Cooldown support with a real lower bound

The capstone's summon interval is reduced by cooldown reduction but has a thirteen-second minimum. More recovery should not be described as an unlimited increase to summon frequency, and the record also limits how many Dread Lords can be active.

Demon-specific damage and repeats

Unholy Power strengthens demons. Demonic Echoes explicitly says it is their only Echo source, so a general player repeat-strike effect should not be credited to them without a separate rule.

A companion matched to the desired job

Soul Devourer's Felhunter prioritizes bosses and elites and uses a damage-over-time consumption mechanic. Soul Link instead offers a health/reduction-linked Voidwalker with shielding. Treat them as alternatives and read their costs to the rest of the plan.

Supporting spells that have an explicit connection

Demonic Familiar links Imp Firebolts to Immolated enemies. Summon Doomguard has a different inheritance rule involving its Shadow Bolts. These are specific links, not proof that adding arbitrary spells multiplies every demon's output.

BUILD CONNECTIONS

Talents that support the idea.

Inspect the synergies, then compare them with the Armory’s Talents tab between runs. The recorded client describes milestones at 10, 20 and 30 points. Exact ranks and tunable values must be read in your client.

WHY IT MATTERS

Demonic Familiar

Adds a permanent Imp whose Firebolts also strike enemies affected by Immolate.

Hover or focus a talent on desktop; tap on mobile. This is a synergy reference. Node order is a reading order, not a point allocation or an unlock tree.

FROM FIRST PICKS TO A FINISHED ENGINE

Your run plan.

Opening

Secure a useful attack before chasing the complete army

Confirm the equipped capstone, companion path and starting spell. A desired Searing Pain offer can help establish the future inheritance package, but passing every immediate damage or defense choice can leave the run unable to reach that stage. Assess the actual offers rather than relying on a theoretical finished build.

Developing run

Add one documented connection at a time

After Searing Pain support is established, compare direct spell improvement with demon damage or the missing survival tool. Immolate has a stated Imp interaction, and a damage-over-time effect matters to the Felhunter's consumption rule. Compare a banish decision with the companion's named support instead of removing a spell whose interaction is still useful.

Summon choice

Read what changes when a demon becomes permanent

Demonic Supremacy makes Infernal and Doomguard permanent but removes the ability to summon lesser demons. That is a package change, not a free extra duration bonus to combine blindly with every summon plan. This guide leaves that alternative conditional rather than promising that all listed demons coexist.

Harder enemies

Keep inherited output and personal safety in balance

The Doomguard description rewards consecutive hits on the same boss or elite, whereas the Dread Lord has its own multi-target attack. Neither means the hero can stop moving. Read any actual necklace remake before redirecting later upgrades; eligibility to receive an item is different from having its effect active.

Keep the build focused.

  • Equipping mutually exclusive companion or capstone paths in a theoretical build.

  • Applying every player echo modifier to demons despite their explicit separate rule.

  • Treating all listed support options as a verified maximum-rank allocation.

  • Assuming a permanent-summon alternative has no cost to lesser-demon access.

QUICK ANSWERS

Warlock build questions

Does this capstone start the run with Searing Pain? +

The verified Pact description grants a timed Dread Lord summon, not a new opening spell. Confirm Searing Pain is actually learned before counting its upgrades as part of the inheritance package.

Can I take both Pact of the Nathrezim and Butcher? +

Their native descriptions explicitly exclude one another. This concept follows the Dread Lord option. The Felguard alternative would require a separate plan rather than adding another capstone to the same setup.

PUT THE RECOMMENDATION IN CONTEXT

A recorded example to compare.

These notes summarize an attributed older recording. We independently check our recommended talent mechanics against 0.130.0; the old run’s result and point distribution are not our benchmark.

HISTORICAL CONTEXT · 0.114.2

Keep a changed Demonology experiment in its patch context

The reported attempt prioritizes Searing Pain and omits Infernal; keep that specific experiment separate from older demon-army advice.
