Conflagrate Destruction
Azeroth Survivors Warlock

Destruction offers a more immediate follow-up loop than the Affliction guide's spreading damage-over-time engine. Conflagrate supplies an Immolate opening and makes Shadow Bolt or Searing Pain hits detonate afflicted targets. Rain of Chaos adds an independent recurring ground effect. The plan is to connect those specific tools rather than importing a conventional WoW Warlock rotation.

THE COBALT TAKE

An Immolated enemy is the setup; a qualifying follow-up hit is the payoff. That distinction should guide early choices. Bane supports the Shadow Bolt and Immolate cadence, while Improved Searing Pain supports the alternative follow-up and the mark. This is a coherent native interaction, without a benchmark proving one follow-up universally superior.

The build in four decisions.

Know Immolate

Learn it in the run, or check whether an unlocked talent starts you with it.

Weigh early Luck

Better level-up rarity odds, when the current clear can afford the choice.

Inspect the amulet

Look for the legendary remake of this spell in a jewelry offer.

Reinforce the result

Read its effect. A repeated offer of the worn amulet can empower it.

BEFORE YOU START THE RUN

Give the plan a starting point.

Confirm Immolate and an actual follow-up

Conflagrate explicitly grants Immolate at the start. Its explosion clause names Shadow Bolt and Searing Pain, so the complete loop still depends on obtaining or already knowing a qualifying follow-up. Do not treat an opening Immolate alone as evidence of constant detonations.

Read Conflagrate as written here

The native effect describes explosions caused by named hits against Immolated enemies. It does not instruct you to press the familiar WoW Conflagrate button or state that the mark is consumed. This guide keeps those unconfirmed mechanics out of the route.

Choose remakes by effect rather than item name

The known-spell condition applies to legendary spell amulets. Read an offered Immolate or follow-up remake in full before deciding whether it helps the loop. Luck can be considered for level-up rarity, but the available tooltip does not establish better necklace-drop odds.

Immolate coverage with a usable follow-up

The first question is whether marked enemies are being hit by Shadow Bolt or Searing Pain. Improve the missing half of that connection before assuming another unrelated damage spell completes it.

The cooldowns of the spells you chose

Bane explicitly supports Shadow Bolt and Immolate. It does not list Searing Pain, so do not credit the latter with the same talent-specific reduction without another matching effect.

A deliberate Shadow Bolt or Searing Pain emphasis

Shadow Cleave adds secondary Bolt targets; Improved Searing Pain increases Searing Pain and Immolate damage. Either is a documented reason to favor an offer, but the two follow-ups have different named support.

Fire damage without assuming every spell is Fire

Emberstorm supports the Fire part of the package. Shadow Bolt remains separately named in its own support talents; a Fire bonus should not be described as a universal multiplier for the entire build.

Ground coverage and a safe route through it

Rain of Chaos adds a recurring Rain of Fire with slowing ground. Destructive Reach affects Rain of Fire and Hellfire coverage, which is a different job from Conflagrate's target-centered explosion.

BUILD CONNECTIONS

Talents that support the idea.

Inspect the synergies, then compare them with the Armory’s Talents tab between runs. The recorded client describes milestones at 10, 20 and 30 points. Exact ranks and tunable values must be read in your client.

WHY IT MATTERS

Shadow Cleave

Makes landed Shadow Bolts fork to two additional enemies.

Hover or focus a talent on desktop; tap on mobile. This is a synergy reference. Node order is a reading order, not a point allocation or an unlock tree.

FROM FIRST PICKS TO A FINISHED ENGINE

Your run plan.

Opening

Connect the mark to the hit

Read the active starter and available spell offers. If Immolate is already granted, acquiring a qualifying follow-up can solve a more important problem than merely adding another unrelated attack. If the mark is absent, keep the existing attack useful while deciding whether a transition is realistic.

Developing run

Improve the bottleneck you can identify

When marking is slow, favor support that actually names Immolate. When follow-up damage is weak, consider the chosen Bolt or Searing Pain package. When enemies surround the hero, ground coverage and defense may be more urgent than increasing the damage of a loop that cannot run safely.

Elite or boss

Keep the repeatable loop when pack bursts fade

Target-centered splash is easiest to appreciate in groups, but do not use that impression as a single-target damage measurement. Maintain Immolate and qualifying hits, preserve movement, and treat the recurring Rain of Fire as assistance rather than guaranteed control of every dangerous enemy.

Keep the build focused.

  • Expecting an Immolate opening to detonate without the named follow-up hits.

  • Assuming Bane names Searing Pain when it does not.

  • Treating Emberstorm as a confirmed damage bonus to every Shadow spell.

  • Importing Affliction's automatic DoT propagation into this different talent package.

QUICK ANSWERS

Warlock build questions

Does Conflagrate consume Immolate? +

The verified native description does not state that it consumes the mark. We do not add a consumption rule from another Diablo or WoW build.

Must I use Shadow Bolt rather than Searing Pain? +

Both are named triggers. Shadow Cleave and Bane give Bolt specific support, while Improved Searing Pain supports the other option and Immolate. Choose from the actual available offers; we have not measured a universal winner.
