Arcane Missiles Arcane
Azeroth Survivors Mage

Arcane Mage combines two different jobs: directing missile pressure at enemies and using Arcane Explosion for nearby coverage. Current native talents add bouncing missiles, chance-triggered Explosions and a limited chain of extra strikes. The resulting route should be assessed by what is falling behind in the actual run, rather than by the total number of impressive effects listed on the talent screen.

THE COBALT TAKE

Arcane Missiles is the dependable centerpiece once the opening capstone is active. Presence of Mind gives it more projectiles and another enemy per missile, while Arcane Concentration connects spell casts to free Explosions. Arcane Power's echo wording adds a further reason to inspect chance-based repeat effects, without proving that every cast duplicates or every proc can continue forever.

Desktop 0.111.0 + 0.130.0 checked. Reviewed 30 October 2026. Original builds were cross-checked between 0.111.0 and 0.130.0; the new alternate builds were checked directly against 0.130.0 native talent records. All 102 class abilities were checked. Build priorities are our recommendations; exact ranks and offered amulet effects should be read in your client. Evidence & version scope →

The build in four decisions.

Confirm the active engine

Check whether Arcane Missiles is learned, supplied by a talent, or supporting a pet/proc engine.

Improve the current clear

Use the build priorities. Consider early Luck when damage and survival are already sufficient.

Evaluate any amulet offer

Read which learned spell the amulet remakes; do not assume it changes a free proc or pet.

Support the engine you have

A working setup need not wait for one necklace. Read actual effects and any repeated-offer empowerment.

BEFORE YOU START THE RUN

Give the plan a starting point.

Check Arcane Power before assuming the starter

The current capstone starts the run with Arcane Missiles instead of Fireball. Without it, retain a useful opening and treat the Arcane transition as something to establish. Do not count a finished missile package while the hero is still relying on another attack.

Separate additional missiles from chance-based echoes

Presence of Mind adds missiles and a further target to each one. Arcane Reach and Arcane Power describe chance-based repeated strikes. Those are different mechanisms; do not turn their coexistence into a damage formula or an assumed guaranteed chain.

Give defense a concrete job

Ice Barrier is a conditional support option when available, not an assumed starting spell. Choose defense when it protects the damage plan and movement. An additional attack deserves its place because it solves a problem, rather than merely filling a slot or matching a remembered recording.

FOCUS THE CHOICES YOU ACTUALLY SEE

Arcane Missiles Arcane upgrade priorities

Read these in the context of your current clear. They are conditional priorities rather than a numeric stat weight or a fixed card sequence.

YOUR NEXT CHOICE

What should I take now?

Check how your core engine comes online

Read your selected talents and current spell list. A learned spell, a free cast and a pet engine are different starting points. Take a spell offer if it fills the missing job; learned-spell eligibility for a legendary amulet is a separate question.

Changes stay on this page. No game save, account or upload.

Missile output that addresses durable enemies

Presence of Mind adds missiles and makes each missile leap onward. If sturdy enemies remain the bottleneck, compare missile-relevant offers before adding still more area to a crowd tool that already handles its job.

Explosion coverage with a stopping point

Arcane Concentration gives spell casts a chance to trigger a free Arcane Explosion. Improved Arcane Explosion changes reach. Treat damage and reach as separate needs, and stop choosing area solely because a larger number appears on the card.

A repeat-strike package read literally

Arcane Reach supplies a chance for spells to strike twice. Arcane Power adds further chance and allows chance-triggered echoes to roll again, with a stated cascade limit. Those conditions do not establish unlimited repeats or an exact multiplication formula.

Damage and cooldown support for the current core

Arcane Focus, Arcane Mind and Arcane Instability have different functions. Compare a school-specific bonus, recovery and the combined damage/crit effect against the actual weakness instead of pretending a fixed numerical order has been simulated.

Enough safety to keep both damage jobs working

Movement or protection can be more valuable than another conditional proc when the hero cannot stay alive. Evaluate the attack pattern and current danger before spending an offer on rarity or a secondary spell.

BUILD CONNECTIONS

Talents that support the idea.

Inspect the synergies, then compare them with the Armory’s Talents tab between runs. The recorded client describes milestones at 10, 20 and 30 points. Exact ranks and tunable values must be read in your client.

WHY IT MATTERS

Arcane Focus

Increases Arcane spell damage.

Hover or focus a talent on desktop; tap on mobile. This is a synergy reference. Node order is a reading order, not a point allocation or an unlock tree.

FROM FIRST PICKS TO A FINISHED ENGINE

Your run plan.

Opening

Identify the attack the run actually grants

Confirm Arcane Missiles and the equipped milestones. With the starter established, choose whether the next improvement should strengthen the missile core or provide reliable room around the hero. Do not abandon necessary early damage while waiting for an ideal combination of proc cards.

Developing run

Diagnose two different kinds of slowdown

Separate enemies taking too long to die from enemies occupying too much space. The former may call for stronger direct pressure; the latter can justify Explosion support or better movement. This is our decision framework, not a claim that a particular radius, accessory pair or upgrade breakpoint is universally optimal.

Jewellery offer

Read what the remake changes now

Match any remake to the spells already learned. A change to Explosion does not establish that Missiles receives the same effect, or the reverse. Compare the current wording with the missing function in the run instead of passing necessary upgrades while waiting for one particular item.

Keep the build focused.

  • Treating the listed support talents as a certified maximum-rank allocation.

  • Treating extra reach as damage against an isolated enemy.

  • Assuming every repeat is guaranteed or that echoes continue indefinitely.

  • Neglecting survival while waiting for a specific necklace.

QUICK ANSWERS

Mage build questions

Why is there no exact talent allocation? +

We verified current descriptions and their bindings, but did not decode and validate every rank and prerequisite. This guide explains the interactions without pretending that a collection of related talents is a tested legal spending order.

Does Arcane Power let spells echo forever? +

No. The current description explicitly limits how many further strikes can follow a chance-based repeat. We preserve that limit rather than inferring an uncapped damage engine.

These recommendations are original analysis of Aethus’s desktop client. The published native talent records were checked against 0.130.0. We have not benchmarked these builds against one another.
