THE COBALT TAKE
The compelling connection is Fire critical strikes feeding both Ignite and Hot Streak. Pyroclasm then gives the opening spell and kill chain a clear identity. Establish that engine before treating every attractive secondary upgrade as equally useful.

The build in four decisions.
Learn it in the run, or check whether an unlocked talent starts you with it.
Better level-up rarity odds, when the current clear can afford the choice.
Look for the legendary remake of this spell in a jewelry offer.
Read its effect. A repeated offer of the worn amulet can empower it.
BEFORE YOU START THE RUN
Give the plan a starting point.
Check which opening you actually own
Pyroclasm explicitly starts a run with Pyroblast. Without that capstone, do not assume selecting Mage gives the same opening. Read your equipped talent plan before deciding which early cards complete it.
Keep the necklace decision tied to the spell
A legendary spell amulet becomes eligible once the hero knows its spell. Confirm Pyroblast is learned, then read the actual offered remake. We have not established a reliable Pyroblast-to-necklace-name mapping from the source text.
Consider early Luck conditionally
An early Luck offer can support rarer level-up upgrades. Compare its timing with immediate damage or survival needs. The confirmed tooltip does not establish better necklace-drop odds, so Luck is not a guaranteed route to the desired legendary.
FOCUS THE CHOICES YOU ACTUALLY SEE
Pyroblast Fire upgrade priorities
Read these in the context of your current clear. They are conditional priorities rather than a numeric stat weight or a fixed card sequence.
YOUR NEXT CHOICE
What should I take now?
An editorial helper for Pyroblast Fire. Compare the actual cards in your client.
Learn your build’s core spell
Take the core ability when it is offered, or use a verified starting-spell talent you already have. The client describes knowing the spell as a condition for its legendary amulet offer.

Fire critical-strike support
Crits have two specific jobs here: applying Ignite and advancing Hot Streak. Prefer a coherent Fire package over collecting unrelated attacks solely because their rarity looks impressive.
Pyroblast and Blast Wave cooldown support
Improved Blast Wave explicitly affects both spells. Evaluate an offer against the spells currently present; do not assume an unlearned part of the package is already contributing.
Coverage and room to move
Fire coverage and Impact can support a moving damage plan. Their existence does not justify standing inside a pack while waiting for another proc.
A timely defensive choice
Keep enough room to survive the next section of the run. An offered defense can preserve the engine better than another offensive pick that arrives too late to matter.
Early Luck with a stopping point
Use Luck as a card-rarity consideration, then reassess. Do not keep passing necessary combat upgrades because a particular necklace has not appeared.
BUILD CONNECTIONS
Talents that support the idea.
Inspect the synergies, then compare them with the Armory’s Talents tab between runs. The recorded client describes milestones at 10, 20 and 30 points. Exact ranks and tunable values must be read in your client.
WHY IT MATTERS
Ignite
Fire critical strikes add a short damage-over-time effect.
Hover or focus a talent on desktop; tap on mobile. This is a synergy reference. Node order is a reading order, not a point allocation or an unlock tree.
FROM FIRST PICKS TO A FINISHED ENGINE
Your run plan.
Opening
Identify the missing link
Check the starting spell and active milestones. If the character already starts with Pyroblast, strengthen the Fire engine rather than acting as though it still needs to be unlocked. Otherwise, play the available opening and treat a Pyroblast pivot as conditional.
Developing run
Make each offer solve a problem
Compare whether the current weakness is coverage, recharge, damage or survival. Hot Streak has an explicit proc limit, so more critical strikes do not imply unlimited free casts. Keep movement and ordinary spell output in the plan.
Legendary offer
Read the remake before committing
Confirm which spell the card remakes and what it actually changes. A familiar item name is insufficient evidence. Reassess the following upgrades around the effect you received, and retain a useful fallback when the expected offer never arrives.

Keep the build focused.
Assuming every Mage starts with Pyroblast.
Treating early Luck as proof of improved necklace drops.
Equipping a necklace by its name without reading its spell remake.
Expecting capped proc effects to scale without limit.
QUICK ANSWERS
Mage build questions
Is this the strongest Mage build? +
That has not been benchmarked here. The plan follows documented Fire interactions and the requested playstyle; gear, offers and run conditions still matter.
Which legendary necklace must I find? +
The exact Pyroblast necklace name and computed effect remain unverified in our current evidence. Read the offered card; knowing the spell is the confirmed eligibility condition.

These recommendations are original analysis of the installed Aethus client, with the published mechanics cross-checked against the original 0.130.0 release. The core build direction was also suggested by a player who reports successful runs. We have not benchmarked these nine builds against one another. The recorded client’s tooltips establish the named mechanics; they do not establish a current-patch tier list, exact legendary odds or a complete numeric talent allocation.
