Chain Lightning
Azeroth Survivors Shaman

Develop a Shaman run around Chain Lightning’s repeated jumps, then connect the permanent lightning milestones with the upgrades and equipment actually available in the current run.

THE COBALT TAKE

Our take: Chain Lightning offers one of the clearest documented interaction chains in the English client. Strengthen that identity while preserving safe movement; extra jumps do not remove the danger created by a bad position.

Desktop 0.111.0 + 0.130.0 checked. Reviewed 30 October 2026. All 44 displayed talents and 102 class abilities match across the installed client and the current original desktop release. Build priorities are our recommendations; exact ranks and offered amulet effects should be read in your client. Evidence & version scope →

The build in four decisions.

Know Chain Lightning

Learn it in the run, or check whether an unlocked talent starts you with it.

Weigh early Luck

Better level-up rarity odds, when the current clear can afford the choice.

Inspect the amulet

Look for the legendary remake of this spell in a jewelry offer.

Reinforce the result

Read its effect. A repeated offer of the worn amulet can empower it.

BEFORE YOU START THE RUN

Give the plan a starting point.

Inspect the lightning branch before starting

Elemental Fury, Storm Reach, Lightning Overload and Elemental Mastery describe different parts of the lightning plan. Fury changes jump behavior, Reach changes jump distance, Overload can provide a free repeat, and Mastery changes the opening and adds an automatic cast. Check which effects are actually learned. The localization does not establish an exact full allocation or every numeric rank value.

Keep another branch from becoming an assumed requirement

Maelstrom Weapon also names a free Chain Lightning after a spell-count condition. It is useful evidence for an alternative permanent direction, not proof that every lightning milestone fits together in the current account. Select a coherent setup between runs and use free respecs deliberately rather than silently adding the strongest text from each branch.

FOCUS THE CHOICES YOU ACTUALLY SEE

Chain Lightning upgrade priorities

Read these in the context of your current clear. They are conditional priorities rather than a numeric stat weight or a fixed card sequence.

YOUR NEXT CHOICE

What should I take now?

An editorial helper for Chain Lightning. Compare the actual cards in your client.

Learn your build’s core spell

Take the core ability when it is offered, or use a verified starting-spell talent you already have. The client describes knowing the spell as a condition for its legendary amulet offer.

Changes stay on this page. No game save, account or upload.

Establish the known Chain Lightning spell

Build around a spell that the current run actually knows. Elemental Mastery supplies a documented opening when learned; without it, the intended ability still has to become available through the current setup or offers. A free effect elsewhere does not by itself settle every known-spell condition used by legendary amulets.

Support useful jumps before unrelated spells

Elemental Fury’s milestone adds jumps and removes damage loss along the chain. Storm Reach concerns the distance between those links. These support different encounter problems: enough available enemies, enough connection distance and useful repeated damage. Keep the actual learned effect in view rather than treating every lightning-looking icon as the same upgrade.

Compare repeat casts and Nature support

Lightning Overload explicitly includes Chain Lightning, while the section’s Nature-damage improvement supplies another relevant comparison. Repeated casts and a damage modifier are not interchangeable statistics with a verified universal exchange rate. Choose using the effects and values currently shown, and leave unresolved placeholder scaling out of a numerical ranking.

Buy future opportunity without losing the present run

An early Luck option can improve the rarity odds of later level-up upgrades according to the client’s stat explanation. Consider that future value only while the current lightning and survival package remain adequate. The same text does not verify an increased supply of legendary jewelry or a guaranteed matching amulet.

BUILD CONNECTIONS

Talents that support the idea.

Inspect the synergies, then compare them with the Armory’s Talents tab between runs. The recorded client describes milestones at 10, 20 and 30 points. Exact ranks and tunable values must be read in your client.

WHY IT MATTERS

Elemental Fury

Changes Chain Lightning to reach additional enemies without losing damage on successive jumps.

Hover or focus a talent on desktop; tap on mobile. This is a synergy reference. Node order is a reading order, not a point allocation or an unlock tree.

FROM FIRST PICKS TO A FINISHED ENGINE

Your run plan.

Before the run

Write down the learned lightning package

Check the permanent talents that will affect the opening. Elemental Mastery’s starting spell and automatic Chain Lightning are concrete effects; a different account may begin without them. Keep the guide’s later goal separate from what the current armory has actually unlocked.

Opening

Give the chain a clear development path

Develop the intended core rather than assuming a collection of shocks and totems automatically completes a Chain Lightning build. Additional spells may solve a genuine problem, but they also create more choices to support. Let each pick explain how it improves the run you are currently playing.

Developing

Use connection without accepting a surround

Jump-distance support has value when enemies can form a useful chain. Preserve a movement route while allowing the available links to matter. Bringing everything closer is not automatically better: a dense pack that closes every escape can defeat a strong damage interaction before it produces sustained value.

Jewelry decision

Confirm the spell-remaking condition

Read the offered legendary amulet’s target spell and effect. The codex makes knowing the spell a condition for its offer, and says further copies can empower a worn one. Compare any lost opening utility with the actual remake; do not choose from an invented item-name-to-spell table.

Keep the build focused.

  • Using a WoW Enhancement melee rotation as the rule for this Survivors client.

  • Assuming Maelstrom Weapon has an instant-healing effect rather than the extracted free-Chain-Lightning description.

  • Claiming every branch’s milestone is simultaneously affordable without the actual prerequisites and budget.

  • Treating Luck’s level-up rarity explanation as proof of legendary jewelry drop rates.

QUICK ANSWERS

Shaman build questions

Is Elemental Fury merely a critical-damage talent here? +

Its extracted Survivors milestone specifically changes Chain Lightning jumps. Follow this client’s tooltip rather than the familiar name’s behavior elsewhere.

Does this prescribe exact proc percentages? +

No. Several values are placeholders in localization. The client’s actual rank and offered values must supply those numbers.

These recommendations are original analysis of the installed Aethus client, with the published mechanics cross-checked against the original 0.130.0 release. We have not benchmarked these nine builds against one another. The recorded client’s tooltips establish the named mechanics; they do not establish a current-patch tier list, exact legendary odds or a complete numeric talent allocation.
