Why these profession pairings?
- Skinning supplies leather, hides and scales.
- Buy thread and salt during a planned town stop, then bring the complete batch.

Separate ordinary leather from hides
The reviewed opening converts Ruined Leather Scraps into Light Leather or makes Light Armor Kit when leather is already available. Cured Light Hide uses Light Hide and Salt. Embossed Leather Gloves introduce Coarse Thread. Keep cured hides in a dedicated pile; they serve a different recipe purpose from the leather stack that fills most of your bags.

Before the next stageJourneyman: skill 50 and character level 10; cap 150.
Protect ingredients for dependent crafts
The current route uses Cured Medium Hide, Fine Leather Belt and then Dark Leather Belt. The darker belt consumes an earlier belt, cured hide, Fine Thread and Gray Dye. Check what you already made before buying another complete ingredient set. This stage is easier to manage as two linked batches than as unrelated items sold immediately after each skill-up.

Before the next stageExpert: skill 125 and character level 20; cap 225.
Choose a hide or leather branch
Reviewed checkpoints include Barbaric Shoulders, Guardian Gloves and Nightscape Headband; the material mix moves through Heavy Leather and cured hides into Thick Leather. The source offers alternatives because hide prices vary. Choose the branch using your own inventory and the next useful output, rather than adding both alternatives to a single oversized shopping list.
- Heavy Leather
- Cured Heavy Hide
- Thick Leather
- Silken Thread
Before the next stageArtisan: skill 200 and character level 35; cap 300.
Avoid the old Classic finishing list
The reviewed guide does not publish a tested post-225 sequence and explicitly warns about changed gray thresholds. We therefore prescribe no speculative final armor recipe. Learn available current patterns, inspect their station requirements and craft a small check batch first. Sewing Machine is a listed skill-300 camp station; blueprint availability and its practical acquisition route still need launch verification.
- Materials required by your current learned pattern
- A separate budget for pattern access
Before the next stagePost-225 craft order is a launch-verification stage, not a copied Classic route.
Pick the recipient before the pattern
Choose the problem slot first. Replacing a weak item for a friend can be a better use of scarce leather than another copy of something abundant at auction. Check armor compatibility, role and the player’s next level before committing. Keep a note of the agreed item to avoid crafting the wrong stat variant.
Give the campsite a practical purpose
Camp Tent is listed at skill 20 and Tanning Rack at 140. The tent’s rested-experience benefit is limited, so do not treat it as endless experience generation. For crafting, identify the station your actual pattern needs and arrange access before gathering every reagent. A friend’s available workshop can be more convenient than pausing a useful upgrade while searching for your own blueprint.

Quick questions
Should I convert all lower leather upward?+
Only after checking the next recipe chain. Converting everything can leave you buying back an ingredient needed by an earlier useful craft.
Does the guide choose my specialization?+
No. Compare current patterns and recipients before choosing a later branch. This route does not claim one specialization is best for every class.
