CLASS JOURNEY / 1–60

Paladin leveling.
Learn it as you go.

Use the same character’s weapon damage, Holy abilities and support tools intelligently instead of paying for every available spell on every pull.

THE COBALT TAKE

Our take: Paladin leveling improves when you manage the cost of the whole circuit, including healing and drinking, rather than only the damage of one enemy.

Reviewed 30 October 2026. Forever is in its pre-launch edition. Later-level advice is identified as planning where beta coverage is limited; check the current client before committing materials or a long journey.

BUILD GOOD HABITS EARLY

Your Paladin milestones

1–9

Build a repeatable opening

Keep your available seal, blessing and aura in mind. Train the useful Holy Strike and Judgement kit as it becomes available, then compare the result over several fights rather than assuming constant spell use must be fastest.

10–19

Choose efficiency before a label

Begin a talent plan that fits your weapon and mana needs. Holy support points or Retribution efficiency can both be sensible choices. Keep a shield or healing items when you genuinely intend to use those roles.

20–29

Treat extra targets as a resource decision

Baseline Consecration does not make every pull an unlimited-area farm. Check the current target interactions, your mana and the escape space. A single manageable enemy can be better than recovering from a spectacular but expensive pack.

30–39

Reassess the hybrid direction

Holy Shock is available through a 21-point Holy investment, not automatically from reaching this band. Decide whether that tool, deeper Retribution or tank support serves your current play. Beyond beta-tested content, regard the route as provisional.

40–60

Separate questing and group sets

Post-beta planning: select the role your regular group needs and retain the equipment that supports it. Twist of Light and the 21-Holy alternative lead to different endpoints; a legal endgame allocation is not proof of the fastest earlier leveling path.

Compare the complete damage package

A useful weapon upgrade can change how your whole kit feels. Weapon damage and Spell Power both deserve attention in Forever; simply replacing every physical item with a caster item hides a real tradeoff. Read the seal you are using and compare the weapon’s speed, damage and effects together.

Holy Strike is baseline, so it is not exclusive to one talent variant. The later Holy Shock and Twist of Light plans buy different tools. During ordinary questing, avoid unnecessary seal replacement and expensive area damage when the target will die before those decisions repay their mana cost.

Use support without losing your own resources

Solo questing lets you decide when to heal, drink and continue. Keep enough mana for a recovery action instead of emptying the bar to save one final weapon swing. Bandages and combined food-and-water breaks remain useful even though you can heal yourself.

Enter dungeons for a quest bundle, a meaningful reward or a team you want to learn with. Declare your role and bring appropriate gear. The Protection guide explains the tanking package, while Holy and Retribution answer different questions. Their build cards are role references you can edit, not universal leveling instructions.

Plan for the awkward pull

Herbalism with Alchemy supports a self-supplied potion plan. Mining with Blacksmithing is attractive if you enjoy crafting gear, but compare the next useful recipe with the training and weapon purchases it delays. A gathering-first approach is also reasonable; no crafting pair is mandatory.

Your emergency tools have conditions and cooldowns. Check the current Forbearance interaction rather than assuming every defensive button can be chained freely. A fleeing enemy or distant caster can still create trouble. Fight where you can see the next patrol, use control deliberately and recover before committing to another pack.

BEFORE YOU SET OUT

Quick questions

Can I level Holy if I plan to heal later?+

Yes, but distinguish a Holy-assisted damage route from a dedicated healing outfit. The useful gear and spell spending depend on the job you are doing.

Can I combine Holy Shock and Twist with 51 ordinary points?+

Their minimum investments total 52 points. The guide library therefore presents separate endpoints instead of pretending both fit the normal budget.
