CRAFTING / SKILL 1–300

Blacksmithing.
A useful skill at every stage.

Blacksmithing is most satisfying when a craft solves an equipment problem. Our route uses stone and metal checkpoints to organize that work, rather than treating every weapon as disposable skill points. Plan the anvil visit, recipe training and storage together; otherwise a cheap material purchase can become several unnecessary trips.

Reviewed 30 October 2026. Forever is in its pre-launch edition. Later-level advice is identified as planning where beta coverage is limited; check the current client before committing materials or a long journey.

Why these profession pairings?
  • Mining supplies bars and stone.
  • Coordinate rods with an Enchanter rather than assuming every crafted item will sell.

1–75

Turn stone into a foundation

Rough Sharpening Stone and Rough Grinding Stone are reviewed starting crafts. Coarse Grinding Stone and Runed Copper Gauntlets follow in the beta route; the gauntlets use Copper Bar and Rough Grinding Stone. Keep a Blacksmith Hammer available. Separate stones needed for another craft from finished weapon enhancements, so an early vendor sale does not force you to remake ingredients.

MATERIAL CHECKPOINT
  • Rough Stone
  • Coarse Stone
  • Copper Bar
  • Rough Grinding Stone

Before the next stageJourneyman: skill 50 and level 10. Keep your hammer for equipment crafts.

76–150

Make bronze purchases deliberately

Reviewed checkpoints include Rough Bronze Leggings, Patterned Bronze Bracers and Bronze Shortsword. Their ingredient chains use Bronze Bar, grinding stones, and, for the sword, Weak Flux and Medium Leather. This is a good moment to compare your available leather with your metal stock. An apparently abundant bar pile is not a complete production plan if every craft needs a missing secondary reagent.

MATERIAL CHECKPOINT
  • Bronze Bar
  • Coarse Grinding Stone
  • Weak Flux
  • Medium Leather

Before the next stageExpert: skill 125 and character level 20; cap 225.

151–225

Move into iron and steel chains

Green Iron Bracers use Iron Bar and Green Dye; Golden Scale Bracers use Steel Bar and Heavy Grinding Stone. Later reviewed checkpoints are Mithril Plate Pants at 185 and Heavy Mithril Breastplate at 215. Choose a small batch before converting all your ore, and reserve ingredients for the actual equipment you intend to finish.

MATERIAL CHECKPOINT
  • Iron Bar
  • Green Dye
  • Steel Bar
  • Heavy Grinding Stone
  • Mithril Bar

Before the next stageArtisan: skill 200 and character level 35; cap 300.

226–300

Confirm Artisan recipes before stockpiling

The reviewed higher route is a beta planning draft, not a live-tested shopping list. Check your current learned recipes and their station requirements, then select a useful output that still gives skill. Master Forge is a listed skill-300 camping milestone. Its presence in a reference does not prove that the final blueprint or all required ingredients are accessible on your launch-day route.

MATERIAL CHECKPOINT
  • Only the materials for a verified learned recipe
  • Gold reserved for training and recipe access

Before the next stageRecheck the post-225 sequence and Master Forge access after launch.

Build around an actual equipment need

Before crafting a weapon, compare it with the item the intended player already owns. Level requirements, weapon compatibility and the next likely quest reward matter more than the color of its name. Our recommendation is to arrange a buyer or recipient for expensive equipment first. A rod order or useful upgrade gives the batch a purpose even when the auction market is unstable.

Schedule the workshop visit

Sharpening Wheel is the skill-20 camp contribution, and Anvil is listed at 140. Keep workshop availability beside your material checklist. If a recipe requires a forge, an anvil alone should not be assumed sufficient. Combining training, vendor reagents and the actual craft into one planned stop is usually more comfortable than discovering each missing dependency separately.

BEFORE YOU SET OUT

Quick questions

Should I smelt every ore immediately?+

Choose based on the recipes and buyers you have. Keep enough flexibility to avoid converting a useful raw material into an unwanted intermediate.

Is a specialization required for this route?+

This is a general leveling plan. Confirm the current specialization rewards and quest conditions before committing to a later equipment branch.
